Sunday Pix - 3 Plays!!! (I will try to post starting goalies later) (NHL)

Last night 2-4 -2.59 Units YTD 16-15 -.58 Units

As I have said on here for the past week or more, it's been hard to get a gauge on teams making it harder to feel confident on certain plays. Tread lightly as they say for the first month of the season until things settle down. The Buffalo Sabres continue to surprise by sweeping their Western Canada swing, but goaltending can go a long way in determining your success, something they've got with Comrie/Anderson. The Oilers are off to a slow start too, so I'll be staying away for them for a bit.

Overall, home teams are 54-38 to start the season with games going under the total at a slight edge of 43-41-2.

We have a small card tonight, with only 5 games. Let's find a few winners! Starting goalies will be posted in brackets next to each match up)

SEA/CHI - 2pm EST - Both teams are off to decent starts, but I'm going to pass on this game, as I just can't trust either team this early in the season.(Martin Jones for SEA/Alex Stalock for CHI)

ANA/DET - 5pm EST - This is the Ducks' 5th game in 9 nights on the road and has lost all four so far. The Wings are by far and away the more talented team, plus rested! DET needs to keep pace with a very deep Atlantic Division to start the season.

CLB/NYR - 5pm EST - NYR have been off a few days while CLB played last night at home in a 6-3 loss to Pitt. The juice is pretty high with NYR as a -245 fav, not worth it with so much parity to start the season.

NYI/FL - 5pm EST - I personally think Vegas is giving the Panthers too much respect from last season's record by making them a -210 fav. FL is without Ekblad on defense, making this blueline even thinner than it already was. The Isles are a tough team to figure out yet again, but there's way more value with them at +172. NYI have already lost to FL on home ice and have only beat SJ and ANA.

SJ/PHI - 7pm EST - The Flyers won last night in NSH and have played inspired/structured hockey under Torts. Philly is off a 3 game roadie while SJ is 1-6 to start the year but that one win came against NYR, go figure! With both teams having played last night, strong lean to the under here too.

Playing all for 1 Unit each today -

DET - ML(-138)Tempted to play it for 2 Units. PHI - ML(-140) SJ/PHI u6(-115)Sharks 5 of 7 games under the total to start the season.

Good Luck Tonight! Puckpix
