After initially making the 23 man roster, New Jersey Devils have re-assigned 2022 2nd overall NHL draft pick Simon Nemec to the Utica Comets. They have recalled big defenseman Kevin Bahl from Utica and will join the team for Wednesday’s noon practice according to Sam Kasan of NewJerseyDevils.com.
This move was to be expected as Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald is making a money puck move while making sure his prized second overall pick spends time in Utica and get valuable playing time. Nemec played three preseason games with the Devils. Bahl played four preseason games and was a plus 1. He is looking to take big strides this season and brings size to the Devils blueline.
