The Lehigh Valley Phantoms concluded their 2016-17 regular season schedule on Saturday night with a 4-1 road win over the Binhamton Senators. Andy Miele (13th goal of the season), Taylor Leier (13th), Scott Laughton (19th, shorthanded) and Danick Martel (20th) scored for the Phantoms. Making his pro hockey debut, Mark Friedman showed off his speed and recorded an assist and a plus-three. Martin Ouellette stopped 45 of 46 shots to earn his third win.
The Phantoms finished the season with the AHL's second-best record (48-23-5, 101 points). In the best-of-five first round of the playoffs, the Phantoms will take on the archrival Hershey Bears. The series schedule is as follows:
