Not-so-Super Sunday for Senators (Senators)

Mike Hoffman followed up the shootout winning Forsberg goal on Saturday with a bullet past Carey Price to open the scoring on Sunday, but that was about all the good news for Senators fans.

Penalty trouble led to two quick Habs' goals and they added 2 more for the 4-1 win.

The loss ended the quest for the Senators to put together their first 3-game win streak since mid-October.

Mike Condon didn't have much chance on the Jeff Petry shot that made it 1-1 while the Canadiens were on a 5-on-3, and on the same ensuing power play Artturi Lehkonen scored his first of two on the afternoon, and the Habs never looked back.

For much of the game it looked like two teams whose seasons were already over, and it looks like it will be a long couple of months ahead for both fan bases.

Ottawa was outshot again, by a count of 35-26, meaning they have allowed at least 30 shots in every game in 2018, and they have been outshot in 11 of the 14 games they have played since January 1.

Hopefully the Senators can maybe get Bobby Ryan, and more importantly Mark Stone, back for Tuesday night's date with the Devils for a boost to the lineup that has looked pretty thin despite winning two of their last 3.
