Leafs finish up in the Falls, cut down to 49 players (maple leafs)

For the latest Leafs updates or on Twitter A group of 73 players participated in the final day of at Toronto Maple Leafs training camp in Niagara Falls, ON, but mere hours after the club departed the Gale Centre Arena, the club announced 24 cuts to their roster. 2017 draft choices Eemeli Rasanen, Ian Scott, Fedor Gordeev and Ryan McGregor, 2016 pick Nicolas Mattinen and training camp invitees Cole Coskey, Marc-Olivier Duquette were all returned to their junior clubs.

Forwards Vladimir Bobylev, Jeremy Bracco, Adam Brooks, Rich Clune, Jean Dupuy, Martins Dzierkals, Nikita Korostelev, Max Novak, J.J. Piccinich, Kristian Pospisil and Joshua Winquist, defencemen Matias Cleland, Alex Gudbranson, Nolan Valleau, Sam Jardine and Jeff King, and goaltender Cal Heeter were assigned to the Toronto Marlies camp. Toronto now has 49 players (28 forwards, 17 defensemen and 4 goaltenders) and opens the pre-season against the Ottawa Senators at the Canadian Tire Centre on Monday.
