The Toronto Maple Leafs made more moves in advance of the season opener against Montreal to adjust their roster. The Leafs as expected sent defensemen Simon Benoit, Wiliam Lagesson, Maxime Lajoie, forwards Kyle Clifford, Dylan Gambrell, and goalie Martin Jones to the AHL after clearing waivers on Monday, and on Tuesday the club signed forward Noah Gregor to a one-year deal for the veteran NHL minimum of $775,000.

To make room for Gregor, the Leafs placed forward Bobby McMann on waivers. McMann did not participate in training camp due to a knee injury, which Toronto hopes will be a factor in getting the 27-year-old down to the Marlies, but after scoring 21 goals in 30 AHL games and earning a brief stint in the NHL last season, there is a chance that a club like Anaheim or Arizona with open spots on their roster could put in a claim.
