There have been plenty of rumors swirling when it comes to the Devils trying to make a trade for a goalie. I've continually heard Jersey's first choice is Jacob Markstrom, but there's a definite debate out there, about whether Markstrom or Saros is the best goalie available. And is Saros BIG and Physical enough to be able to survive a Eastern Conference playoff run.
It is worth noting that Tom Fitzgerald has very strong ties to the Preds and learned his trade studyingr under David Poile...who certainly believed in Saros as a playoff goalie...
Markstom and Jake Allen are more durable and have been tested over the years.,.,
