Hurricanes announce Eric Tulsky as permanent General Manager (Hurricanes)

The Carolina Hurricanes officially named Eric Tulsky as the team’s permanent general manager today.

Tulsky was already holding the role of interim general manager following Don Waddell’s departure, and looked to be the natural successor, despite the team seemingly having external interest as well. Tulsky had been with the organization since 2014, and most recently served as the Hurricanes’ assistant general manager, a position he held since 2020.

The change comes in the busiest offseason for the team in recent memory, and other than an extension for Jalen Chatfield (and reported progress on a new contract for 2025 UFA Jaccob Slavin), the team has yet to re-sign many of their current free agents. Still, given Tulsky’s involvement in the organization over the current era, he seems like the best bet to take over after a very successful stretch of years under Waddell.
