Happy Jaromir Jagr Day to everyone as it just so happens to be 68 degrees here on June 8th in Rochester, NY. Jaromir Jagr is one of the best Penguins of all-time. He is one of the best hockey players of all-time with a second best 1,921 points in NHL history. He also happens to be one of the best characters of all-time. He’s amazing.
Here’s a ton of highlights

Jagr thinks very highly of the achievement.
J
agr told me today that the goal, scored on May 2, 1999, in Pittsburgh, was the biggest he's scored in his entire career. It tied the series and may have saved the franchise."I remember that like it happened yesterday," Jagr told me. "I pulled my groin in the first game. We were losing, 3-2, in the series and if we would lose in the first round I think the team would move to Kansas City because they had no money. We had to make the second round to get the (money for) the payments.
"I came back and I tied it with a minute and a half to go and then I scored in overtime. That was probably my best game ever, I would say. My most important for sure. I'll probably never score a goal that important. Probably if I hadn't scored, the team wouldn't be in Pittsburgh right now. (Sidney) Crosby would be in Kansas City."
Jagr has continued his work as a franchise savior. He is still playing for the Kladno team he owns and took over from his father.
Jaromir Jagr said he feels obligated to keep playing for the team he owns in the Czech Republic even though the former NHL forward admits his skills are declining as he nears age 50.

"It’s not easy anymore, believe me," he told The Hockey News.https://t.co/2efz9PBAM0
Jaromir Jagr said he feels obligated to continue playing for the team he owns in the Czech Republic, even though the former NHL forward admits his skills are declining with his 50th birthday approaching."Do you know why I'm still playing?" Jagr told The Hockey News in comments published Wednesday. "I have a responsibility to the club, otherwise I wouldn't fly here and I wouldn't be making a fool of myself. But if I quit, the partners and sponsors would leave and the club may be done. I have no choice. People don't understand it, but I don't care. Only God will judge me. I expect much more from myself, and I also believe that I have it in me."
Jagr took over as majority owner of Kladno from his father, also named Jaromir, in 2011. He completed his 33rd professional season and helped it earn promotion from the second-tier Chance Liga to the Czech Extraliga, the top Czech league. Jagr scored 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) in 19 regular-season games and 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 16 playoff games.
At 50 years young he played in 43 games this year putting up 19 points.
He’s a Penguins legend. He’s a hockey legend. If he ever retires his #68 will be up in the rafters in Pittsburgh.
Happy Jaromir Jagr Day
