Hello Hockey fans, followers, buzzards, world!
I am doing a different piece of content today to inform what the plans are for the off-season on behalf of myself, as they have started early.
With the Blue Jackets' regular season basically over since American Thanksgiving, but not officially declared over until mid-March, it has given me time to think about what to do with the summer events.
To bring a better perspective and knowledge to the game, I am attempting to revamp my player profile series that I dipped into last season after the signings of Johnny Gaudreau and Erik Gudbranson. Who are the players, where they came from, and provide a further rooting interesting in the individual who represents the emblem on the chest every Gametime.
With the future of the draft and free agency being so far away, my intent is to begin with the pending unrestricted free agents as they may be gone by summer, or extended. The future isn't clear.
Restricted free agents will follow as they are expiring contracts, but will most likely remain with the organization. The CBA allows this for the control of the team to hold players services' until the age of 25 or 26, depending on contract type and games played bases.
Prospects will follow suit, including a prospect ranking of most to least likely to be a part of the show. A spotlight on the future is key in the progressive young man speed game in the sport of hockey meshed with the toughness and physicality of the men involved in the National.
Tenured players, coaching staff, and management up will be the conckusion, unless there is hirings, buyouts, or trades.
Rumors, signings, news, will be usual and may show as some headlines over the profiles, but also will be included in the headlines. My intent is getting through the profiles one a day for each player. If I fall behind or the weekend gets to me with postseason rest, I will stack multiple players.
More is coming!
