Day Two Picks (Flames)

With the 59th overall pick in the second round, the Calgary Flames selected center Topi Rönni.

The 6’2… 179lb Finn is ranked closer to the third round on most lists, but considering the Flames aren’t picking again until round five, the difference is negligible.

Rönni played on five different teams last year including U-18 international play. He totalled four points in 20 games in the Finnish Liiga and has been developed through the Tappara system. He is expected to play at least one more year in Finland.

Much like last year’s second round selection in William Stromgren, Topi Rönni‘s size and skating are his most notable qualities.

At #155 of the fifth round, the Flames selected 6’4… 205lbs Parker Bell. The left wing had 18 goals and 49 points in 64 games last season with the Tri City Americans of the WHL.

Bell has a very sneaky snap shot and has a knack for getting the puck to the net. He leans forward hard in his skating style which makes him hard to handle off the rush. He is known to switch to the right side for one timers. Very solid fifth round pick.

With the 219th pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, the Flames selected Cade Littler out of Wenatchee of the BCHL. He had 45 points over 50 games last season including 20 goals. Another big body— 6’3… 201lbs, Cade is committed to play for Minnesota State University next season.
