The Los Angeles Kings have announced that they’ve re-signed defensemen Kale Clague and Austin Strand.

Clague is 23 years old and split this past season between the NHL and AHL. With the Kings, Clague managed six assists in 18 games, and with the Ontario Reign, the defenseman had one goal and 12 points in 23 games. His contract is for one year and will carry a $761,250 cap hit.

Stand is 24 years old and also split the season between the NHL and AHL. Strand had one assist in 13 games with the Kings and five points in 19 games with the Reign. His deal is also one year and carries a $771,750 cap hit.

While the Kings will have a somewhat crowded blue line heading into next season, you can expect both defenders to get a look in training camp, while fighting for a roster spot with the Kings.
