TONIGHT! The SlapShot Radio Cook Off! Predators forward Eric Nystrom and I will be battling it out at The Chef and I in Lenox Village. The doors open at 5:30pm for tonight’s battle. Eric Nystrom vs yours truly, we will be taking over the show kitchen to compete in an “Iron Chef… like battle to win the Cup!

It’s all to raise money for the Nashville Predators Foundation and should be a lot of fun! Some tickets remain and they are on sale at our EventBrite site all tickets include a three course gourmet meal prepared by Chef Chris Rains.
The judges for the evening are Dawn Davenport and Neil Orne from News 2 This Morning and Woody and Jim from 107.5 The River’s Woody and Jim Show. Please join us for all the fun, for a great cause! How about some Monday Random Notes
- Standings update after play on 3/22 – St. Louis has a single point lead over Nashville with 97 points. Anaheim has top spot in the conference with 99 points. Chicago is four points behind Preds. The Blackhawks have two games in hand over Nashville and St. Louis.
- The Western Wild Card – Minnesota (72 games played) owns the first wild card slot with 87 points, the Winnipeg Jets (72) are in the second slot with 86 points. The Calgary Flames (72) are in the third slot in the Pacific Division and the LA Kings (71) are two points behind the Flames and four points behind the Jets.
- Who Should Pred Nation Root For? – Only St. Louis and Nashville are not in action tonight in the Central. The main impact game for the Preds is Chicago/Carolina… Pred Nation is hoping for their southern brethren to rise up and give help out…
- Preds forward Craig Smith was fined $5k for his high-stick on Jerry D’Amigo Saturday night. But Tyler Toffoli gets off with just the penalties assessed in the game on his boarding hit on Alex Burrows? SMH.
- The New York Rangers simply crushed the Anaheim Ducks last night… Statement game? Maybe… New York broke out of their offensive woes big time last night by tacking the extra point on a 7-2 can of whupass. The Rangers play LA tomorrow in a Finals rematch… that should be an interesting one.
- Speaking of the Kings, they recalled Mike Richards from Manchester. Just in time for the playoffs… if they make the playoffs.
- Top prospect Connor McDavid finished his junior season with 120 points. In 47 games!!!! That’s 2.55 points per game.
- A little controversy on national TV yesterday, did the game winning goal get scored with a broken stick? Considering the stick was broken by an Alex Pietrangelo slash, I say it should’ve counted. And BTW… funny to hear Detroit using Nashville’s victory song…
- Boston is in free fall right now as the Bruins dropped their 5th straight game yesterday, losing 5-3 to Tampa Bay. They are in real danger of falling out of the playoff race.
- Big night for a non-holiday Monday, seven games in the NHL tonight – Kings @ Devils, Blackhawks @ Hurricanes, Wild @ Maple Leafs, Sharks @ Senators, Sabres @ Stars, Avalanche @ Flames, Jets @ Edmonton.
