Update. The flyers have signed Sean Couturier to a multi year deal. 6 years under 4.5 per cap hit
News from earlier:
Pens GM Jim Rutherford made a couple clever moves this morning, trading center Brandon Sutter and a third round pick to the Canucks for center Nick Bonino, defenseman Adam Clendening and a second rounder and signing veteran free agent Eric Fehr to a three-year, $6 Million deal.
Sutter will make $3.3 Million this season and will become an unrestricted free agent next summer. In return, the Pens get Bonino who is signed through 2017 at $1.9 Million and a 22-year-old blueliner in Clendening who helps their defensive depth.
Fehr is a useful versatile veteran who scored 19 goals last season with Washington and the Pens were able to get the 29-year-old signed for a very reasonable $2 Million cap hit.
Will discuss the deal and more on the Buzzcast at 1pm:
