The Calgary Flames have signed Kris Versteeg to a one-year contract in effort to add some much needed scoring depth on the wing.
Sources indicate Versteeg deal will be 1 yr, likely under $1 mil.

Versteeg had a pretty good camp with the Edmonton Oilers but they elected not to sign him in part because they wanted to give legitimate minutes to Jesse Puljujarvi.
Versteeg's best days may be behind him but he can still play. In 2014-15 he tallied 14 goals and 34 points in 61 games while last year he managed 15 goals and 38 points in 77 games split between Carolina and Los Angeles.
On top of his solid on-ice production he also posted fantastic underlying numbers as his teams controlled 57% of the shot attempts and 51% of the goals while he was on the ice at 5 v 5.
For a team desperate for scoring depth on the wing Versteeg is a fantastic addition; especially at the price tag he is coming in at.
Once again a job well done by Brad Treliving and the Flames' management group.
