Arizona Tank Stalled (sabres. coyotes)

The Arizona Coyotes defied all odds, scored five goals, and won lost two HUGE McEichel points in Detroit on Tuesday night. The Coyotes entered Joe Louis Arena with one win in their past nine games. The Dogs entered the game 0-7-1 in its last eight games.

The Coyotes took three separate leads on the Red Wings, however, could not hold one of them. The Red Wings toes it late in the third period to force OT.

Mark Arcobello scored in regulation and then scored the OT GWG.

David Moss scored twice and the Coyotes forced OT. John Moore popped in a single to get the party started.

Arcobello and Moss each scored PPGs.

Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall was a late scratch because of a lower-body injury, and forward Erik Cole left the game because of an upper-body injury after the first period.

Mike Smith made 33 saves.

In so doing, the Coyotes handed two McEichel points to the idle Buffalo Sabres.

The 29th place Coyotes now "trail" 30th place Buffalo by 5 points in the McEichel standings.

The Coyotes visit the Sabres on Thursday night. The Sabres will visit the Dogs on Monday night.

There will be considerably much more anxiety and heart palpitations in Buffalo between now and April 11.

The Sabres and Oilers have 9 games remaining in their dreadful seasons while the Coyotes have 8 games remaining.

The Sabres will host the Coyotes on Thursday night, then fly off to Denver on Saturday night. The Sabres will play in Arizona on Monday night.
