OTT PG61 @ Chicago Blackhawks — Super Stu! The Ottawa Senators collect two crucial points as they edge the Chicago Blackhawks by the final score of 4-3 in overtime.
Period I
Captain Brady Tkachuk opened the scoring of the game almost two and a half minutes into the game for his 24th of the regular season from defensemen Artem Zub and Jake Sanderson.
The Blackhawks got two quick goals in 44 seconds. Player to watch Ryan Donato lit the lamp for the forward’s career best season. His 23rd goal and maybe final goal with the Hawks was supported by Landon Slaggert for his first assist of the year
Teuvo Terrivanen got the go ahead goal for his 15th back in Hawks sweater on the powerplay. Tyler Bertuzzi and Alex Vlasic, who is a part of my fantasy team, had the helpers.
David Perron batted in the tying goal for his third of the year from Drake Batherson and Josh Norris.
Period II
Josh Norris recorded his 20th of the season from Batherson and Sanderson.
Period III
Craig Smith brought the game back to even for his ninth with the Blackhawks from Patrick Maroon.
Overtime
Tim Stützle got the winner 46 seconds into the extra time unassisted for his 20th of the campaign. Players to Watch
Chicago — Ryan Donato had his career high 23rd goal of the season which was also the 100th of his NHL career
Ottawa — Drake Batherson had his 32nd and 33rd assists of the season for his 48th and 49th points in the 24-25 year.
Goaltenders
Arvid Soderblom allowed 4 goals on 26 shots against for a 0.846 save percentage.
Linus Ullmark allowed 3 goals on 20 shots against for an 0.850 save percentage.
Sens’ Three Stars of the Game

Anton Forsberg, Ottawa Senators
Goalie Forsberg is in the last of a three-year contract with an AAV of $2.75 million and will likely not be back in Ottawa with Linus Ullmark as the undisputed starter and both Leevi Merilainen and Mads Sogaard waiting in the wings. G Forsberg has been a reliable backup for the Senators, who are looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016-17. If a playoff-contending team is looking to add goaltending depth, the 32-year-old could be an option. Ottawa could also use him to try and upgrade its blue line or bottom six forwards for the stretch drive and into the playoffs.
