Four straight trips to Silicone City.
Four straight 2-0 losses for the Buffalo Sabres.
Talk about Hollyweird.
Pathetic.
Thanks, Sabres
Robin Lehner did he job. The large Swede stopped 34 shots for the Sabres, including 15 in the first period. The Sabres showed up late for work again and were outshot 15-2 in the first period.
The Sabres have now lost six of seven and 2-8-2 in the last 12 games since the 5-1 loss to Chicago on February 19.
After 40 minutes, Buffalo could only muster 11 pathetic shots on goal.
The game was a 50-50 puck after 40. Scoreless. Ripe for the picking.
How bad did the Sabres want it?
Nice desperation for a team that has not been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Yet.
Somehow, some way, the Sabres outshot the Kings 15-11 in the third period.
“We don't go out and deserve it. You can't wait for them to score the first goal and then wake up. It's not how the game is played,… said Lehner. “This is a business. You've got to come out and play otherwise you get replaced, simple. It doesn't matter whether we're in or out right now, everyone needs to be playing for their jobs. It's not a privilege to play in this league. You've got to earn it.…
I love Lehner for his candor and truth. His searing post game commentaries are bang on. His teammates stunk in San Jose and again in La La Land. They have played a disjointed, incomplete brand of hockey since their NHL-mandated bye week one month ago.
Good on Lehner for calling out his forwards and D. AGAIN.
Lehner was none too impressed with the effort of his teammates in LA. He chirped his listless teammates for the umpteenth time this season.
A lot of good it's done. No accountability. No passion. No continuity. Non adherence do Dan Bylsma's structured system.
I've said it before and will say it again:
There are far too many passengers on this Sabres team. Too many independent contractors who want to do it their way, not the team way.
Dan Bylsma isn't getting the maximum effort from all 12 forwards, 6 D and 2 goalies.
Why not?
Next stop: Anaheim tonight.
