Game One Loss Feels Like a Re-Run (Ovechkin)

The Washington Capitals lost the first two games of their round one series, at home, to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

So last night was all part of the plan. Go down 2-0, lull your opponent to sleep, and then............whamo!

Probably not a good strategy to be honest, but what can you do?

The Penguins are a great team with an insanely deep roster, and the Capitals played an excellent game one, so it really sucks to have lost. You're not going to strongly out play the Penguins too often, so you better win when you do.

Overall, the Capitals were the better team, they controlled 60% of the play and had more shots and scoring chances.

So it was a lot like last year, basically.

In the last eight playoff games between these two teams, the Capitals have dominated seven of them and lost five.

We should all switch to basketball, I'm thinking, since in that sport, the best team pretty much does win the game.

Good times!
