After a 2-1 loss against Calgary on Thursday night, the Canadiens had a day off yesterday and an optional skate this morning. When they jump on the ice tonight, they’ll have no reason whatsoever to be tired. Judging by who was on the ice this morning, it appears that Jake Evans won’t be in the line-up tonight and that Arturri Lehkonen will be back.
Scratching the 4th line centre probably means that Paul Byron will slot in at centre with Lehkonen on his left and Perry on his right. In net, Carey Price should be between the pipes, after a rough start to the season, he’s been solid of late, surrendering only 1 goal in each of his last 4 stars.
Looking at the North division standings, the Leafs are in first place with 40 points in 28 games, the Oilers are second with 36 points in 29 games, followed by the Jets who stand at 34 points in 26 games, while the Canadiens are 4th with 31 points in 26 games. The Flames are breathing down the Habs’ neck in 5th place with 27 points in 27 games. Tonight’s game is therefore a must win game. On Tuesday, the CH will reach the midway point of its calendar and before we know it, the trade deadline will be upon us.
The game starts at 7:00 PM which will be a nice change after the late start times of the last week. After the game, the Canadiens will travel to Winnipeg to face the Jets on Monday.

Après une défaite de 4-1 contre Calgary Jeudi soir, les Canadiens ont eu droit à une journée de congé hier et à un entraînement optionnel ce matin. Quand ils sauteront sur la glace ce soir, ils n’auront absolument aucune raison d’être fatigués. Si on se fie à ce qu’on a vue sur la glace ce matin, il semble que Jake Evans ne sera pas dans l’alignement alors qu’Arturri Lehkonen sera de retour.
Rayer le 4e centre de l’alignement signifie probablement que Paul Byron jouera au centre flanqué de Lehkonen à gauche et de Perry à droite. Devant le filet, Carey Price sera probablement de retour, après un début de saison difficile, il a été solide dernièrement n’accordant qu’un seul but en temps réglementaire à ses 4 derniers départs.
Présentement au classement de la division Nord, les Leafs sont en première place avec 40 points en 28 matchs, les Oilers sont deuxième avec 36 points en 29 matchs, suivi des Jets qui ont 34 points en 26 matchs, alors que le CH se retrouve en quatrième place avec 31 points en 26 matchs. Ce lundi, le CH atteindra le milieu de sa saison, et avant qu’on ait le temps de s’en rendre compte la date limite des transactions sera arrivée.
Le match commencera à 7:00 PM ce qui est une bonne chose, après les débuts tardifs de la dernière semaine. Après le match, les Canadiens s’envoleront pour Winnipeg ou ils affronteront les Jets lundi.
