Simon Edvinsson picks up 2 assists in CHL action as Frolunda Beats Zurich

I looked at a countdown with 10 Days Until Prospect Camp, and now it’s time to look overseas at some international prospects. Frolunda will be starting SHL contests this coming Saturday, 9/11.

you’ll need to translate the post game report. Scroll down to the summary and you’ll see that Detroit’s first pick in this year’s draft had 2 assists (both secondary) including on the overtime winner as Frolunda beat Zurich in the last CHL contest for the next month. The SHL will be picking up on Saturday as Brynäs will visit Frolunda HC.

It’s a relief to see Edvinsson playing after taking a scary hit earlier in the season. The big defenseman is said to have grown to 6’6” after a draft height set somewhere around 6’4” or 6’5”. I’ll continue to follow and post any relevant developments.

On the roster you’ll recognize a couple names. Former Wing Jan Mursak is playing wing. Prospects Elmer Soderblom and Theodor Niederbach seem to be occupying 4th line duties. It looks like Edvinsson is on the top pairing. Here are match stats:
