Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. I’m a couple days late, but here are the poll results from this week, along with my thoughts on how they turned out.

QUESTION: If Martin Frk plays a full season in the NHL next year, how many goals do you think he’ll score?

(Votes: 188)

15-20 goals: 48%
More than 20 goals: 35%
10-15 goals: 15%
Less than 10 goals: 3%

It’s telling that 83 per cent of readers voted that Frk would score at least 15 goals next season and based on his shot alone, I certainly wouldn’t doubt it. He’ll likely be in a top-nine role next year and if he’s used a bit on the power play, I see him hitting that mark. I think whether he hits 20 goals probably depends how he’s used but 15 is a safe bet.

QUESTION: Do you hope the Kings re-sign Ben Hutton?

(Votes: 105)

Yes: 80%
No: 20%

Hutton was a quality addition for the team this year and based on the fact that the Kings will need a veteran left-handed defenseman next season, it makes sense to re-sign him. The contract won’t need to be too long and we’ve seen that Hutton can play fairly well against quality competition, so bringing him back makes sense.

QUESTION: Do you think 50 points (per 82) is sustainable production for Alex Iafallo?

(Votes: 90)

Yes: 51%
As long as he stays in the same role: 26%
No: 23%

I was surprised to see the majority of readers voting yes here, as to me, it’s probably dependent on what role he’s in. That said, Iafallo had a very strong year offensively and considering it was only his third season in the NHL, it’s certainly possible we haven’t seen his best year yet. He’ll once again be one of the Kings’ top forwards next season.
