The Carolina Hurricanes have selected forward Seth Jarvis with the 13th overall pick in this year’s NHL Draft.

Jarvis had a massive year offensively with the WHL’s Portland Winterhawks, scoring 42 goals and 98 points in 58 games. In my opinion, he was the best player available at this point and he was my pick for the Hurricanes to go after at 13th overall, even before the draft.

The Hurricanes can use another goal scorer in their top-six and there’s a good chance we’ll look back on this pick as a steal for Carolina.
