It's warm and sunny in Sochi however changes are happening there with HK Sochi firing Sergei Zubov who's set to become a Hall of Famer.

Two days ago it was announced that on November 18th Sergei Zubov will be inducted into Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto so he would take a two-game absence and miss his team's games on November 15th and 17th when they would face Metallurg Magnitogorsk and Dinamo Riga on road. The Sochi team is currently 10th in the western conference and the team's front office wasn't going to wait until November and today they announced that they former hockey star has been released of his duties.

In meantime, HK Sochi has named 61-year-old Leonids Bereznevs from Latvia as teams interim head coach. Beresnevs started working with the team earlier this season.

Zubov worked with the Sochi squad since March 2017. Under his leadership, the team made the playoffs twice but always failed to make it past round one of the Gagarin cup playoffs.
