Red Wings forward Emmitt Finnie has changed agents, as announced on social media by new agency Kaizen Sports. After a standout rookie season, the former 7th round pick is looking to make a jump in production for his sophomore year to upgrade his negotiating power for his next contract.

Kaizen now represents both Emmitt and his older brother, Marshall Finnie, though Marshall is playing in the NCAA and not the NHL. Finnie was previously represented by Todd Lutwinick of Raze Sports Agency, which currently represents fellow Red Wings forward Mason Appleton. The younger Finnie brother signed a three year ELC with the Red Wings and now former general manager Steve Yzerman in 2024. The 21-year-old now finds himself entering the second year of the pact and will become a restricted free agent after the 2027/28 season.

Finnie's rookie season with the Red Wings was productive as a surprise roster player out of training camp, with the former 201st overall pick playing top line minutes for much of the season alongside Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond. The young Lethbridge, Alberta native played in all 82 games for Hockeytown and had 13 goals and 17 assists throughout the season. His physical, fast paced playstyle helped earn a lot of respect from coaches and fans.

Kaizen Sports also represents Red Wings prospect Carter Bear, who is set to begin his first full season in the AHL this year.
