Jack Hughes Continues To Impress As USA Moves On To Canada In Gold Medal Match (nHL News)

Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack...SHUT UP CHRIS!

I'm sorry to keep talking about him, but as PK Subban says, "Jack Hughes is the straw that stirs the drink". Whether its for good play, bad play(very seldom and even debatable), no play, or Tate McRae, Devils or USA, #86 seems to always be the story. Fortunately for America and Devils fans, right now it's all about good play. Jack is finally playing games without the brace on his surgically repaired hand and reminding us all what is possible with healthy Jack. In limited ice time he has been one of the Americans most effective all around players. Hughes has been amazing with and without the puck. Jack has been one of the few players that has created opportunity for the US nearly every time he has touched the six ounce disc of vulcanized rubber. The playmaking, deking, shooting (which we haven't seen much of since Chicago Cut), and attention to detail in all zones has been of the charts. Despite somewhat limited ice time, the middle Hughes brother has been dar from mid.

Jack paced the red, white and blue with two goals, including one where his individual skill was on full display. Hughes' shimmy at the top of the circles put former teammate Tomas Tatar on a spackle bucket before lighting the lamp. It was the third goal for the United States and the one that seemed to break open the flood gates in a 6-2 American route of the Slovaks.

With the weight lifted from his shoulders, its time for Jack and the United States to add weight. This time around their necks, in the form of an Olympic Gold medal.

Sunday's Gold Medal Game: 8AM Puck Drop

Let's hear your plans in the comments...

For me, I'll be in beautiful Staten Island, New York at Jimmy Maxx. A community staple known for $2 happy hour drafts and great pizza(Kitchen won't be open til 11 unfortunately). It would've been nice to bump it back to 6pm Milan time or play it Saturday Night, if the IOC was concerned about timing of their closing ceremonies on Sunday. Either way, as fans of either we won't remember the start time, and will try not to remember anything about the game if it doesn't end in gold...
