Elias Pettersson. You are next up on he price is right... (Eklund)

As the dust settles...

The Canucks are currently in seventh place in the Pacific Division with a  record of 9-12-2 through the first 23 games and have just picked up a future 1C in Marco Rossi....

Pettersson's Contract and Performance

Pettersson signed an eight-year, $92.8 million contract extension in March 2024, making him the seventh-highest-paid player in the NHL at $11.6 million per season. After a slow start this season, in November, he started looking like the player he once was and was riding a five-game point streak with four goals and five assists.

Where could he go?

In normal times I would say trading this kind of player in season is almost impossible...However, Rutherford just pulled off moving Quinn Hughes so all bets are off...Carolina has always been interested...I have heard the Isles, Canadiens, Bruins and Mammoth....Pettersson has a full no-movement clause so  he'll dictate where he wants to go and where he doesn't, but talking to peopl I feel he is OK with a fresh start...

You can feel the exhale after the trades yesterday...but Rutherford has been known to do several deals in proximity..
