Terrible news out of southern Florida today… Defending Stanley Cup, champion, captain, and soul of the Florida Panthers, Sasha Barkov, suffered a serious knee injury yesterday in practice. He is having surgery today and is likely out for the season…
I know the official word is he is done for the year…but this is Barkov…so let’s leave it at that.
This is a tough injury, especially when coupled with the fact that Matthew Tkachuk is out until at least December…Those are two major players to lose, and we can start the clock on the always creative master of GMs Bill Zito, and if he chooses to make a move to bolster sooner rather than later…
This is a deep team…but that’s a major blow…
