On Travis Hamonic...
I used to be of the mindset that Travis Hamonic wasn't going to be moved during the current NHL season, but I continue to hear the Edmonton Oilers are trying to make this happen sooner than later and may be putting some very attractive concepts on the table.
On Kevin Shattenkirk...
Yes, he has been linked with Tampa for Jonathan Drouin for a long time now, but last night a source close to the Leafs told me how much "certain people in the management team in Toronto" are looking at Shattenkirk as a big piece that could solidify a lot on the blue line; "Young speedy forwards only work with stability in your own end, so look to the Leafs to go older on the D-end and they have the money to get Shattenkirk."
On Radim Vrbata...
Change needs to come to Montreal and for now I keep hearing that is NOT behind the bench. There is some hesitation on the price you need to pay to get Drouin, and to put the "Montreal" pressure on Drouin at his age doesn't sound like the right way to fix his game. Vrbata is another story. He can score in bunches, but has been around enough to not let the pressure overwhelm Radim.
We will discuss all this and more on today's buzzcast at 1pm ET.
