The Islanders received some bad news tonight as Newsday reports that defenseman Travis Hamonic will miss 2-3 weeks with a lower-body injury. The 25-year-old has 2 goals and 6 assists in 41 games this season
Hamonic suffered the injury last Thursday night vs the Washington Capitals. The Isles are already without defenseman Johnny Boychuk for the next 3-5 weeks.
It is possible that Ryan Pulock will fill Hamonic's roster spot. They already have Scott Mayfield and Adam Pelech in the lineup.
The pressure is on Garth Snow now. Lets just hope that he doesn't use this as an excuse not to fire Jack Capuano.
