When I was 6 years old my team won the Stanley Cup after being inspired by a live version of "God Bless America" from Kate Smith, who was a big-time star at the time. To this day Kate has remained a good luck charm for the Flyers. Maybe the Sharks are starting a similar tradition tonight.
per NHL: Metallica, aka James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Rob Trujillo, will rock the Shark Tank for a good cause. The guitars used by Hetfield and Hammett during the performance will be signed by the members of the band, displayed on the concourse during the game and then donated to the Sharks Foundation to be auctioned off. Fans will be able to bid on the guitars at SharksFoundation.org until Wednesday, June 15.
Metallica has supported the Sharks for years, and the Sharks skate through their iconic shark head and onto the ice for home games while Metallica's "Seek and Destroy" is played.
Maybe Sidney Crosby should present the band with flowers.... (Throwback reference...)
