Swede Swap (sabres)

As expected, the Buffalo Sabres have recalled goaltender Robin Lehner from his conditioning assignment with the Rochester Americans.

Look for the Big Swede to start again Boston on Friday night

Lehner (6’5…, 240 lbs.) went 1-2-0 with an .888 save percentage and a 3.36 GAA in three games for the Amerks.

Lehner suffered a high right ankle sprain on October 8, just 27:30 into his Buffalo debut against his former team the Ottawa Senators.

Lehner was originally expected to miss 8-10 weeks. However, his healing process was slower than expected.

The Gothenburhg, Sweden native has a 30-36-15 record with a .914 save percentage and a 2.88 GAA in 87 career NHL games.

In a corresponding move, goaltender Linus Ullmark has been assigned to the Rochester Americans.

I like that Ullmark has won two straight games for the Sabres. He made 70 saves on 74 shots in his back to back starts in Winnipeg and Minnesota.

Ullmark can now assume the number one role in Rochester where he will play multiple games in a row.
