Sidney Crosby is getting old. Today he enters the last year of his twenties. He will be entering the twelfth(!) year of his career.
Much was made about who won the Crosby lottery back in June 2005 and Crosby has done everything and more to justify that hype. Without Sidney Crosby there are no Pittsburgh Penguins. The team would have moved. Pittsburgh's luck winning Sidney Crosby can never be overstated.
Crosby is the best point producer of his generation. He is the active leader in both points per game in both the regular season and the playoffs. He has won the Hart Trophy twice, the Art Ross twice, the Ted Linsday award three times, the Rocket Richard trophy once, and the Conn Smythe once. I ran a series of blogs in August of 2014 breaking down the Hart Trophy voting and there is decent evidence that Crosby probably deserved another two Hart Trophy wins.
His teams have found success as well. He has two Stanley Cup rings to go along with his two Olympic Gold Medals, World Junior Championship gold, and World Championship gold
Here is a snap shot of his amazing on-ice career
His concussion/neck injury was the only thing that slowed down the freight train that is Sidney Crosby (and perhaps Mike Johnston).
Sidney Crosby accomplishes all of these on-ice achievements while also being the active leader in handling media requests for both his team and the league as a whole. Much is asked of him but you rarely hear of him asking for things in return. A recent example of this occurred after his day(s) with the Stanley Cup concluded.
Hats off to Sidney Crosby. This is awesome! pic.twitter.com/Pyl5kBUVR1

With the Penguins winning the Stanley Cup in June and the World Cup of Hockey starting in September there isn't much time to relax this summer. Crosby is already back to work and John Moore ,who is based out of Halifax. has some video documentation of Crosby getting back to it.
Here is a 2 on 2 scrimmage which features Crosby and Nate MacKinnon
