QUICK HITS: OCTOBER 2, 2016
1) The Flyers made two roster cuts on Sunday. The team sent 2014 first-round pick Travis Sanheim to the American Hockey League's Lehigh Valley Phantoms and fellow defense prospect Philippe Myers to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
The preseason roster currently stands at 32 players. The Flyers have three preseason games remaining, including Monday's home game against the New York Rangers.
Both Sanheim (15:07 TOI, one assist, minus one (+1,-1), three charged giveaways, one shot on goal on three attempts, one block) and Myers (19:28 TOI, minus one, three charged giveaways) had their ups and downs in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Bruins.
2) Michal Neuvirth got the start in goal on Sunday, stopping 25 of 28 shots through the first 65 minutes and one of three in the shootout. Jordan Weal scored regulation and shootout goals for the Flyers. Sean Couturier and Brayen Schenn also tallied. Jakub Voracek, Sanheim, Ivan Provorov, Andrew MacDonald, Travis Konecny and Shayne Gostisbehere notched an assist apiece.
3) Several days after reassigning 2016 second-round pick Carter Hart back to his junior team, the Western Hockey League's Everett Silvertips, for the 2016-17 season, the Flyers inked the 18-year-old goaltender to an entry-level contract. The contract will slide for the season.
