Final Score: Flyers 2 – Blue Jackets 3
Game Summary
What. A. Game. The Jackets pulled off one of the most unlikely victories in recent memory. Down two with fewer than two minutes left, they scored twice to tie the game and send it to overtime. The game ended up in a shootout where Boone Jenner scored the winner to give the Jackets the 3-2 win.
This game never should have been that close to begin with. The Jackets dominated the play and if not for the fantastic goaltending performance of Steve Mason they would have ran away with it. The Jackets fired 53 shots on goal! At even strength they controlled 56% of the play, and had 55% of the scoring chances. This was a game they deserved to win.
Boone scored the first goal, tipping home a Seth Jones point shot. It goes down as a short-handed goal, though the Jackets had five skaters on the ice with the goalie pulled.

Cam Atkinson scored the tying goal. David Savard had the initial shot, it was stopped and the puck was loose on the doorstep. Scott Hartnell and Cam were right there whacking away at it, the puck squirted out to Cam and he roofed it.

Boone then won the game in the shootout with this move.

Its moves like that where you see the potential in Boone. He's more than just a hard-nosed player. He brings a lot of skill to the table and that bodes well for his continued success moving forward.
Alexander Wennberg returned to the lineup, but Nick Foligno missed the game with an illness. Jared Boll stayed in the lineup though he didn’t last much more than the first period. Boll was given a game misconduct for his hit on Pierre-Edouard Bellemare.

The hit itself is fine, the problem is it’s just so late. The puck isn't even near Bellemare. The hit is shoulder to chest and if Bellemare has the puck this wouldn’t be as big of a story. John Tortorella was not happy with the call. He was fuming on the bench and sounded off post game. Boll is going to have a hearing tomorrow with the Department of Player Safety. I think at most he gets a fine, a suspension seems unlikely.
