Final Score: Avalanche 1 – Blue Jackets 2
Game Summary
Sergei Bobrovsky was back and judging by the goaltending performance you could have guessed that he was in net against the Avs. It was not Bob, but rather Joonas Korpisalo who put in a second straight fantastic performance.
Korpisalo made 29 saves including 10 high danger saves to pick up his third win of the season. He played very well as the Jackets spent large stretches of the game hemmed in their own end. The goal he did allow was one he likely wants back. The shot just managed to squeak through him and trickle into the net.
Brandon Dubinsky got the scoring underway a minute into the game. The goal was set up by a great rush by Ryan Murray. Murray was able to take the puck past his man and get behind the net where he made an excellent pass to Dubi.

— Stephanie (@myregularface) January 17, 2016This is another benefit of having Seth Jones around. He allows Murray to take more chances offensively. In the past particularly when paired with James Wisniewski, Murray had to be the guy who stayed back and had to be the defensively reliable player. Now with Jones, Murray can take those extra chances as he knows Jones has his back and is also very good defensively. The pair have very similar skill sets and can work off each other very well.
Jack Johnson got the game winning goal. It was quite flukey, he threw it towards the net and the Avs defencemen went for the block, it bounced off him and went into the net.
