Ovechkin Named Captain of Russian Squad (Washington Capitals)

The Russian's have named their on-ice leader for the upcoming World Cup of Hockey.

Alex Ovechkin was named team captain this week of the Russian squad. Ovi last captained his nations team in 2014 when Team Russian captured gold at the World Championships.

Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin and former NHL superstar, Pavel Datsyuk, have been named alternates.
