Todd Cordell
1. Washington Capitals (47-12-4)
The Capitals are on pace for 61 wins. That's just insane.
2. Anaheim Ducks (36-19-8)
The Ducks have won 10 in a row and they're just steamrolling teams right now. They have balanced scoring, an elite defense core and two excellent young goaltenders.
3. Chicago Blackhawks (40-21-5)
They're one of two teams with 40+ wins and they just added Andrew Ladd, Christian Ehrhoff, Dale Weise and Tomas Fleischmann. They're poised for a deep run.
4. Tampa Bay Lightning (38-22-4)
Eight wins in 10 games and the Lightning suddenly lead their division. I think the only team that can touch them in the Eastern Conference is Washington and I'm not sure the difference is as big as some think.
5. Dallas Stars (38-20-7)
They've cooled of late but they can score with the best of them and no team gets more scoring chances per 60 minutes. They'll be fine.
Peter Tessier 1. Capitals- they keep rolling and they keep leading the league and +62 goal differential, wow!
2. Blackhawks- they got stronger at the deadline and are beginning their push time for the west to watch out.
3. Blues- they did not make a huge splash at the deadline but they are 7-3-0 in last 10.
4. Ducks- 10-0-0 in last 10 and are quietly making everyone realize 'they're back!'
5. Kings- take a look at their record then take a look at their roster then that they are 6-3-1 also they are +23 in goal differential. Why did I put St Louis ahead of them?
