Maple Leafs Plan To Insult Phil Kessel In His Return To Toronto (Brendan Shanahan)

The Toronto Maple Leafs plan to insult Phil Kessel tomorrow. When the first TV timeout hits tomorrow night in Toronto there will be no tribute for one of the franchise's best goal scoring forwards in its history.

The Leafs plan to do nothing. This is a bit of a change from Brendan Shanahan, Lou Lamoriello. They're not going to do that stuff. No insult to Phil Kessel, but they aren't going to be, at this point, offering or doing any kind of tribute.

This isn't a good look for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The fact that Phil Kessel plays in one of the lower scoring eras in the history of the NHL and put up the numbers he did with Tyler Bozak is pretty damn worthy of a tribute.

Brendan Shanahan, Lou Lamoriello, and the Toronto Maple Leafs are coming off very petty here.

This won't be lost on Phil Kessel who has been showing some growing chemistry with his new linemate Evgeni Malkin. Kessel leads the Penguins with 33 individual scoring chances. The next best player on the roster is Sidney Crosby with 21.

Should be fun watching #81 in his return to Toronto.
