Jaroslav Halak on the move? (islanders)

As the Islanders look to avoid a three-game losing streak against Matt Martin and the Toronto Maple Leafs, the goalie situation may have reached its tipping point.

Allan Walsh, the agent for both Jaroslav Halak and Jean-Francois Berube, tweeted last night his displeasure over the situation.

Halak expressed his feelings over the situation during the exiting interviews last May. It's unclear if Halak had Walsh tweet this out or Walsh took this upon himself to plant the seeds of a potential trade.

The latter clearly worked. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, general manager Garth Snow has now made Halak available.

Out of the three goalies, Halak has the least trade value. His cap hit for this and next season is $4.5M and his salary for next season is $5M. Potential playoff teams like the Los Angeles Kings and Dallas Stars have limited cap space to take on Halak's contract.

Thomas Greiss is an unrestricted free agent following the season. Berube will be a restricted free agent. The team loves Berube, who has not played this season, would certainly be claimed on waivers.

This would situation has been totally unfair to all three goalies but specifically Berube, who has limited practice team and the Isles are wasting another year of his career.
