In this edition of the hotstove we discuss which coach we think is most on the hot seat as we enter the 2016-17 campaign.
Todd Cordell I'll say Willie Desjardins. I know he probably isn't the most obvious choice but the Vancouver Canucks have a very demanding ownership and want to win. With the roster the Canucks have in place that'll be nearly impossible - the only thing I think they can win is the race for 1st overall - so I think it's possible he is let go sooner than later if they don't get good results; and they won't.
Peter Tessier My first answer that came within half a second of reading this question was Torts. Something just screams "head's up!" when thinking about the Blue Jackets and Tortorella after his performance and publicity at the World Cup of Hockey.
However there are others. I'd suggest that Willie Desjardins might be feeling a little heat, deservedly or not but Vancouver has an ownership that demands results and the Canucks are not delivering.
Have to wonder a bit Claude Julien too. While not at the fore front of hot seats I bet he's a little warm in the saddle though and if the Bruins crash at the start is change inevitable?
The start for any team can dictate the future fate of the coach so if some one gets off to a bad start there are bound to be surprises within a few weeks.
