G47 Calgary Flames @ Dallas Stars: Finish Strong (Flames)

The Calgary Flames are in Dallas tonight looking to finish their road trip on a high-note with a win over the Stars.

Doing so will be anything but easy, though, as the Flames have won only four of their last 10 and were in action last night in Carolina.

While the Stars have won just two of their last 10 games their play has been much better than their record indicates.

There has been slight fluctuation in shot attempt and scoring chance numbers but the Stars have gotten at least a 52% share in both categories prior to the slump and during the slump.

The Stars have been playing well but they've had a big dip in quality of goaltending over the last few weeks and it has cost them. The Flames are hoping that remains the case for one more night.

NOTES 1) With the Benn - Seguin - Sharp line on the ice at 5 v5 the Stars get 58% the shot attempts, 57% of the scoring chances and 60% of the goals. The Flames are going to be in tough trying to slow that unit down; especially considering the Flames are a tired team playing a rested one.

2) The Flames have scored 19 goals in their last six games. If they have anything going for them right now it's their offense. Can they do enough to beat the Stars in a track meet?

3) Only Montreal has had worse goaltending than Dallas over the last few weeks. With the Stars' goaltenders noticeably struggling the Flames need to put pucks on net and test them any chance they get.

The game is at 8:30 eastern and can be seen on Sportsnet West and Fox-Sports South West.
