After concluding their home stand with a beat down over the Florida Panthers the Calgary Flames are set to kick off their five-game road trip against the Edmonton Oilers.
The Flames will be looking to register their second win in a row and pull within two points of a playoff spot in the process. They'll have reinforcements, too, as Michael Frolik is expected to return to the lineup.
Standing in the way are the Edmonton Oilers, who sit last in the Western Conference following a rough stretch where they recorded just two wins in 10 games.
Despite their struggles they still own a 12-9-1 record on home soil and will surely have no trouble getting up for a game against arguably their biggest rivals.
Dating back to mid-December the Flames have won two games, lost two, won two, lost two, won two, lost two.
They won their last game. It'll be interesting to see if they keep the trend going tonight.

NOTES 1) The Oilers are last in goals against in the Western Conference and the Flames' offense is hot having scored 10 goals over the last two games.
2)
3) The Lander - Korpikoski duo has not been a good one for the Oilers this season. In 130+ minutes the Oilers have generated just 33% of 5 v 5 goals and 40% of 5 v 5 shot attempts. The Flames should be able to expose them.
The game is at 10:00 eastern and can be seen on CBC and SN.
