Quick hit today as the season is starting to ramp up...
With the recent signing of Jonathan Huberdeau, the Florida Panthers are now the most financially committed team to their young stars in the NHL.
In recent years teams are giving their young players more security with long term deals while trying to be as financially at the same time.
The Panthers have taken this to a new level.
For better or worse, which will soon be revealed, Florida has committed tens of millions of dollars into a core of players that just helped them have their most successful season in franchise history.
Keith Yandle and Jason Demers were big additions as well this offseason, priming the pump for the Panthers to be Cup contenders for years to come.
Below is how the current Panthers roster sets up. No other roster in the league looks like this. Dale Tallon, Tom Rowe, and Co. are all in with this group.
Is this a risky move to put so much money into a small group of players? What do you think about these contracts? Which do you think is the best deal? Personally I think Barkov and Trocheck will prove to be the best value, and I look forward to your thoughts.
