Devils Plan To Address Top-6 In Summer; Blandisi Shines In OHL Coaches Poll (Devils)

Over the years Devils GM Lou Lamoriello has not been one to shed light into his plans for the organization, but he recently bucked that trend when discussing his off-season wishlist.

Unsurprisingly, Lamoriello wants to address the team's scoring woes, and has his mind set on acquiring a pair of top-6 forwards; presumably wingers.

This free agent crop is extremely week and beyond a few aging veterans at the top (i.e. Martin St. Louis and Jaromir Jagr) there really isn't much that could help the Devils.

Lamoriello has mentioned the Devils are in a good cap situation going forward, so I could see the Devils plucking talent off teams that need to shed some salary.

We'll get a better idea closer to the draft, but off the top of my head some potential targets that come to mind are Loui Eriksson and Patrick Sharp, among others.

With the Devils having a top-10 pick, potentially three in the top-45, and some cap space to work with, it should be an interesting summer.

The annual OHL coaches poll came out on Wednesday, and Devils prospect Joseph Blandisi's name was littered throughout.

For those not familiar, coaches vote the top-3 players in several categories such as best skater, hardest shot, best penalty killer, etc. and sort the voting by conference.

Blandisi finished top-3 in several categories including best playmaker (1st in East), best skater (3rd in East), best shot (3rd in the East) and best penalty killer (3rd in East; behind two defensemen).

He is an excellent playmaker, but it's pretty impressive that the OHL's leading goal scorer was voted best playmaker in the Eastern Conference.

Blandisi is an overage player and is supposed to fare well above league average, but he's been one of the best players in the OHL this season, so there is reason to be optimistic about him going forward.
