Before I analyze some of your trade offers, I'd like to go over some Ducks news items.
Ilya Bryzgalov was waived yesterday and Frederik Andersen isn't quite ready to return so the Ducks called up Jason LaBarbera to backup John Gibson. Its good to have an experienced goalie in the system for such situations.
The Ducks unveiled the logo of their new AHL team. San Diego will be the home of the Gulls, part of the AHL's revamped Western Division. I like the idea of having the farm team so close, but is a Ducks affiliation good enough for this franchise to succeed long term, when others have failed?
Trade Offer Evaluations
From Daddichronic:
I know Toronto and Anaheim have a lot of history trading with each other but one more I would like to see would be: To Anaheim Phaneuf and Winnik To Toronto Ritchie 2015 1st and 2015 3rd
Not going to happen. This package isn't worth this year's #1 and next. Also, Phaneuf's contract is a big problem here. There is little chance the Ducks take on his $7M for the next six seasons.
From Eskimomike:
Paul Martin for Emerson Etem and a 2nd rounder Two guys who both have contracts that end after this season, haven't watched a lot of Ducks games. Seems they may have soured on Etem.
You are right Etem's star has lost some luster. I like Martin, but he isn't really an upgrade over Francois Beauchemin. If Etem gets dealt, it will more than likely be in a bigger package.
Red Wings at Ducks
Bruce Boudreau's revamped line has led to two straight wins and if it ain't broke, He isn't messing with it. Clayton Stoner is back from a one game hiatus, which means Eric Brewer will be scratched. John Gibson is the starting goalie again tonight.
