It hasn't been a good season for the Columbus Blue Jackets, and it looks like it's about to get worse.
Already 14 points out of a playoff spot and without a few of their best players in Sergei Bobrovsky, Boone Jenner and Nathan Horton, among others, the Jackets have lost James Wisniewski and Ryan Murray to injury.
While Wisniewski will likely only miss a couple games, Murray will be out for the next 4-6 weeks, according to Aaron Portzline.
Murray was just starting to find his groove after missing most of the season with an injury, so this will be a tough pill for both Murray, and the Blue Jackets to swallow.
He's been effective when healthy, however, he's missed a ton of time due to injuries, and his inability to stay healthy over the last few years is extremely worrisome for a team that invested so much (No. 2 pick) in him.
On one hand, his absence will likely lead to more losses, which should put the Blue Jackets in a better position to add a high-end player in the draft.
On the other, it's never nice to see a player go down, especially when you're banking on him being a big part of the team moving forward.
This has essentially turned into a development season for Columbus, but for Murray this is nothing more than a wasted year.
