Colin McDonald: NHL Yo-Yo (Islanders)

Colin McDonald has once again been called up from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Will he actually get a chance to play tonight or is he simply an insurance policy? Could he be a pawn for Coach Capuano to threaten a player he doesn't feel has given his all? Is there a throwback Fisherman jersey with his name on it in the locker room? Or will he skate those morning and be put back on the ferry?

Tough break for Colin who spent so much time with the Islanders and has now has 34 points with the Sound Tigers in almost as many games. If Casey Cizikas and his "tweaked" leg can't go, Colin will have a spot.

Certainly Jack has decisions to make for tonight's game against the Florida Panthers. They want to get back to winning on home ice, can they? Could the loss of Kyle Okposo be what's missing? Was he the straw that stirred the drink? (isn't that a dumb saying? Sure if you don't stir the drink, all the bourbon is on the top, but still)

Kyle brings something special to this team, especially on home ice. Without him, just a bit of sparkle is missing.

Capuano told the media yesterday that he doesn't' think the team will head into a deeper slide. After all -- two is enough.

“I don’t want to change anything in our game,… Capuano said. “There are a few things in special teams we want to change, but from our standpoint, there aren’t too many things we want to change. We can’t be in panic mode because we lost a couple of games.…

The Panthers can find ways of winning and you know for sure that the ex-Isles on the team (Bergenheim and Montoya) will be looking for that to happen. So the Isles have to be sharp tonight or this will turn into a three game skid that they can't afford.

The (dreaded) Fisherman (We Want Fish Sticks) jersey returns tonight for charity. Ahhh, everything old is new again. Nostalgia sells and money is made.

I wonder if Stan Fischler is getting any royalties for his likeness.
