In professional sports, as in life, you don't get a second chance to make a first impression.
On Sunday night, Zach Bogosian dropped the hammer on the Philadelphia Flyers on a nationally televised game seen on the NBC Sports Network.
Bogosian recorded 11 body check, a Sabres team and season record. Several of Bogosian's hits were of the "Damn, that one is gonna leave a mark" variety. Like this car crash.
Bogosian now has 118 hits this season which now rank him #2 on the Sabres behind the 183 bombs that Nic Deslauriers has landed.
Bogosian said afterwards that he prides himself on bringing the heavy game every night.
I got a good chuckle out of my Twitter timeline as I sat in the press box and watched Bogosian wreck Flyers players at will. I have some Twitter followers who alleged that in his Buffalo debut Bogosian had more hits than Tyler Myers had all season long in Buffalo.
@SabresBuzz great trade for GMTM. I think Bogo has more hits tonight than Myers had all year.

Not so. Myers delivered 46 hits in 47 games in Buffalo.
If Bogosian keeps mowing opponents down at this pace, he will in fact eclipse Myers' hot count in the next four games.
Bogosian also 2 blocked shots in a team-leading 24:49 of ice time.
