The Islanders received some bad news today as they announced rookie defenseman Adam Pelech is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury. The Isles are already without defensemen Johnny Boychuk and Travis Hamonic. Pelech was coming into his own during his second callup. He registered his first two NHL points vs the Rangers on Thursday.
Indefinitely is such a vague term. The Isles played just three games in the next fifteen days. I wouldn't think that Pelech returns following the break. Travis Hamonic should be back following the All-Star break. I would think that we would finally see Ryan Pulock get the call.
